Actor Jung Woo-sung has made his first public appearance in eight months, following last year’s revelation of his love child, a story that sparked nationwide headlines. His latest update? Becoming a regular subscriber to the iconic Korean magazine Sasanggye, which is being revived after 55 years.
Literary critic Ham Don-gyun, a member of the Sasanggye editorial board, shared the news on social media, saying, “Actor Jung Woo-sung, showing support for Sasanggye’s revival after 55 years, has become a regular subscriber. We’re truly thankful.”

Sasanggye was originally founded in 1953 by the late Jang Jun-ha and remained a vital voice in Korea’s modern intellectual and political landscape until it ceased publication in 1970. At its peak, the magazine boasted circulation numbers of up to 100,000 copies, playing a major role in shaping discourse in contemporary Korean society. News of its revival after more than half a century has sparked considerable interest and nostalgia among readers.
A photo of Jung Woo-sung holding a copy of Sasanggye was released along with the announcement — marking his first public image since November 2024, when he last appeared at the Blue Dragon Film Awards.
Back in November 2024, Jung Woo-sung faced intense public scrutiny when model Moon Ga-bi announced the birth of her child, revealing that Jung Woo-sung was the biological father. The revelation led to widespread debate and media coverage.

During the Blue Dragon Film Awards, Jung Woo-sung issued a formal public apology.
“I sincerely apologize for causing concern and disappointment to everyone who has shown me love and support. I will accept all criticism and carry it with me. As a father, I will take full responsibility for my son.”
Despite the controversy, Jung Woo-sung is set to return to the screen later this year in the highly anticipated Disney+ original series, Made in Korea. The show is set in 1970s South Korea, an era defined by rapid change and ambition. Jung Woo-sung plays Baek Ki-tae, a man chasing wealth and power, while Hyun Bin stars as prosecutor Jang Gun-young, who sacrifices everything to stop him.
The series is directed by Woo Min-ho, acclaimed for his work on hit films like Inside Men, The Man Standing Next, and Harbin. Made in Korea marks Woo Min-ho’s first foray into television, raising expectations even higher for this gritty period drama.
