Actress Jung Soo-jung expressed gratitude for her sister Jessica’s support and said, “We don’t show much interest in each other’s works.”
On Sep 22nd, we met actress Jung Soo-jung of the movie “Cobweb” (directed by Kim Jee-woon) at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul and talked about various topics.
“Cobweb” is about director Kim Yeol (Song Kang-ho), who is obsessed with the fact that the ending of the movie Cobweb, which was filmed in the 1970s, would be better if remade. It is a film that depicts the sad and funny things that happen while filming under conditions. Jung Soo-jung plays the role of rising star Han Yu-rim.
Regarding her older sister Jessica’s attendance at the VIP Premiere of “Cobweb”, Jung Soo-jung said, “We don’t show much interest in each other’s works. We don’t talk about it but we watch and support each other from behind. We don’t really know what the other is doing”, adding “But she knew that I wanted to do ‘Cobweb’ and cheered for me a lot when I filmed the movie. That’s why I wanted to show it to her”.
She continued, “My sister just arrived in Korea after flying from the US on the day of the VIP Premiere to attend it. After watching the movie, she kept repeating my lines over and over again”. Jung Soo-jung smiled and added, “She doesn’t give serious evaluation about my performance because we have different paths. I think that’s the reason we get along very well”.
Jung Soo-jung also talked about “Cobweb”. She said, “There are diverse stories in this movie so I hope you enjoy it. Especially, you will be able to my new acting transformation in ‘Cobweb’”, showing her confidence. She continued, “Other actors’ acting performance is also another point to watch”, adding “This was such a great opportunity, and I already believed that it would open a new path for me from the beginning. In other to succeed, I had to do this well. This movie came like a gift to me”, expressing her affection for “Cobweb”.
