The “2023 MAMA AWARDS” Chapter 2, held at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on Nov 29th, featured special presenters, namely Jung Kyung-ho and Choi Soo-young. The real-life couple delighted fans by appearing together as presenters.
Jung Kyung-ho took the stage first as the presenter for the Favorite Dance Performance Male Group category, won by TREASURE. In fluent Japanese, he expressed, “Every time I come, I feel the heat of MAMA. Are you all having fun?” He continued to share the reasons behind TREASURE’s win, praising K-pop’s uniqueness and perfect performances, comparing it to the experience of watching a movie.
Following him, presenter Choi Soo-young, with her proficient Japanese, shared, “Japan is a very meaningful place for me. It’s a place where my first challenge in life began. At the age of 12, I debuted as a singer in Japan. The three years of activities in Japan became something precious that can’t be changed. That challenge made me who I am today.“
She added, “In 2002, the challenge in Japan fostered my dream of becoming a singer. In 2007, the challenge as Girls’ Generation made me experience the best moments of my life. And now, I’m continuing another challenge as actress Choi Soo-young. When you take on a new challenge, you face a ‘bias’ that you have to overcome. The moment we jump over that hurdle and prove the real ‘me’! I believe that we change and mature even more.”
Prior to this, at the VIP premiere of the movie “Our Season” held at Megabox COEX in Gangnam, Seoul on Nov 27th, Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-ah were in attendance. Shin Min-ah played a lead role in the film, and her boyfriend Kim Woo-bin attended the premiere to support her. The significance of the movie was heightened as it marked Shin Min-ah’s return to the big screen after 3 years since the 2020 film “Diva”.
Kim Woo-bin also mentioned his relationship with Shin Min-ah naturally on tvN’s variety show “GBRB: Reap What You Sow”. When asked by actor Kim Ki-bang if he often says “I love you” to his girlfriend, he replied, “I say it often.” Additionally, Kim Woo-bin has shown his support for Shin Min-ah by sending coffee trucks to the filming set of her projects, displaying their love for each other.
Both Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-ah, as well as Jung Kyung-ho and Choi Soo-young, are representative long-lasting couples in the entertainment industry, maintaining love for almost a decade. They are giving warmth by catching work and love at the same time.
