Jung Joon-young to be released after 5 years in prison “Will he resume activities?”

Jung Joon-young is about to be released after 5 years in prison

Jung Joon-young, who was sentenced to 5 years in prison for charges including gang raping and distribution of illegal filming materials, will be released on March 19th.

In March 2019, during investigations related to the Burning Sun scandal, it was confirmed that illegal filming materials were being shared in KakaoTalk group chatrooms that Jung Joon-young was a part of.

Jung Joon-young personally filmed and distributed videos of more than 10 victims.

At the time, Jung Joon-young admitted his wrongdoing, stating, “I filmed women without their consent and shared it in chatrooms. While I was doing so, I didn’t feel a great sense of guilt.”

He announced that he would withdraw from all broadcasts and suspend all entertainment activities, declaring that he would reflect on his unethical and illegal actions as a public figure for the rest of his life.

However, it is unlikely that Jung Joon-young, who has been suspended from appearing on all broadcasting networks due to this incident, will be seen on television.

Nevertheless, there remains a possibility for him to engage in overseas activities and YouTube content appearances.

Among the various individuals involved in group chatrooms, including Choi Jong-hoon, Lee Jong-hyun and Seungri, Choi Jong-hoon and Seungri have faced controversy for resuming activities overseas.

As Jung Joon-young played a central role in the illegal filming and distribution, it seems necessary for him to continue his quiet life of self-restraint with a sense of conscience.

Attention is now focused on whether Jung Joon-young will reveal himself to the press upon his release.
