On May 6, a teaser titled “(Friday Preview) Found it! My zombie gem, Jun Ji Hyun” was released on the YouTube channel Channel Fullmoon, featuring the cast of the upcoming film Colony.
The video brought together director Yeon Sang Ho and actors Jun Ji Hyun, Koo Kyo Hwan, Ji Chang Wook, Shin Hyun Been, and Kim Shin Rok, raising anticipation for both the film and the episode.
During the conversation, director Yeon Sang Ho reflected on his early experiences with zombie films, recalling how stunt teams initially felt awkward performing zombie roles compared to traditional action scenes.
He added that perceptions have since changed, with actors now competing to deliver the most convincing performances. Surprisingly, he revealed that Jun Ji Hyun also showed enthusiasm for trying zombie acting.
Responding to this, Jun Ji Hyun shared: “Since the director is so skilled at making zombie films, I tried acting like one next to him.”
She humorously recalled how the director suddenly reacted as if he had “discovered a gem” while watching her.
The lighthearted moment took an even funnier turn when Yeon Sang Ho commented on her physicality: “She has really long legs. When they bend, it kind of looks like a water strider.”
The unexpected comparison left everyone laughing, with Jun Ji Hyun playfully responding: “I could see the director’s eyes sparkle.”
The upcoming film Colony follows survivors trapped inside a quarantined building amid a mysterious outbreak. Unlike traditional zombies, the infected in this story evolve and communicate, promising a new level of horror.
With a powerhouse cast and direction from Yeon Sang Ho known for Train to Busan the film is already generating major buzz.
Notably, Colony has been officially invited to the Midnight Screening section at the Cannes Film Festival and is set to premiere in Korea on May 21.
The full episode of “Na Young Suk’s Wagle Wagle with Colony” will be released on May 8 at 6 PM, giving fans even more of Jun Ji Hyun’s rare variety show charm.
