Actress Joo Se-bin has been cast in TV Chosun’s upcoming drama Doctor Shin, marking her first entry into the world of renowned writer Lim Seong-han (Phoebe).

According to SPOTV News on August 13, Doctor Shin is Lim Seong-han’s first new drama in about three years. The series is a medical thriller romance, following the story of a genius doctor whose life changes after the woman he loves experiences an unexpected accident. Joo Se-bin will play a key character, forming a central part of the storyline and bringing fresh energy to the series.

Joo Se-bin debuted in 2012 under her real name, Kim Myung-ji, as a member of the girl group Tiny-G, gaining early attention alongside stars like Min Do-hee from Reply 1988. In 2017, she appeared on Mnet’s audition program Idol School, attracting K-pop fans nationwide. Since then, she has built a solid acting career, appearing in dramas such as Mr. Temporary, True Beauty, Fly Again, and The Empire: Law of the Kingdom, showcasing her versatility as an actress.


Fans are now eagerly anticipating how Joo Se-bin, as a “new face” chosen by Lim Seong-han, will shine in her first foray into the iconic “Lim Seong-han world.”



Doctor Shin is scheduled to air in 2026.
