In the latest episode of TV Chosun entertainment program “Now Alone”, which aired on July 30th, the daily life of Jo Yoon-hee and her daughter Roa was revealed.
In this episode, Jo asked her daughter, an elementary school student, what she did with her friends during break time, and she surprised her by saying, “I’m always alone during break time.” Roa said, “I have no friends to play with. They won’t play with me. My friends won’t play with me even if I ask them to play with me.“
Jo Yoon-hee asked, “Were the kids doing something?” and Roa responded, “They sit in the corner and touch and play during break time, prepare for the next class, and sit in the corner and play with my hands.“
Jo Yoon-hee shared with the show, “I didn’t feel lonely even when I didn’t have many friends because I grew up with my sister. But Roa doesn’t have siblings, so friends are very important, and I was very worried about Roa being alone during her break time.“
Jo told her kid, “I’m upset to hear that,” and Roa said, “I was hiding it because I was afraid you would be upset,” making Jo more heartbroken.
Jo Yoon-hee decided to plan a friendship party for Roa a few days later.
In this party, Roa’s friends asked Jo, “What is Roa doing tomorrow?” and she said, “She is meeting her dad tomorrow.” The friend repeatedly asked, “Isn’t her dad coming home today?” and Jo Yoon-hee honestly said, “Roa lives separately from his dad,” and added, “Because I broke up with Roa’s dad and we don’t live together.” When the friend asked, “Why did you break up?” Jo confessed honestly, “I fought and I don’t like it anymore.“
Jo then shared, “I always tell Roa the truth because I’m afraid that if I hide something like that, she might feel something’s wrong.” “I often say, ‘There are mom and dad who live together, there are mom and dad who live separately, and there are various families that live only with the grandmother,’” Jo added. “I can say that Roa is meeting her dad on the weekend, I believe that she could take it strangely if I didn’t tell her. It’s not that Roa doesn’t have a dad. If asked, I’ll be honest.” Jo Yoon-hee confessed, “I actually said it without considering Roa’s thought.”
