Jiyeon Confirms Divorce from Hwang Jae Gyun “Agreed to Divorce After Separation”

T-ara’s Jiyeon announced her divorce from Hwang Jae Gyun

On October 5, Jiyeon’s legal representative, Attorney Choi Yoo Na from Taesung Law Firm, stated, “Jiyeon and Hwang Jae Gyun were unable to overcome their differences, and after a period of separation, they have agreed to divorce. They have filed for divorce mediation at the Seoul Family Court.”

The legal representative added, “We earnestly request restraint from provocative reports and speculative comments.”

Jiyeon also expressed her thoughts through her legal representative, “I apologize for delivering unfortunate news. We have mutually agreed to undergo divorce mediation. I ask for your understanding for not addressing this issue sooner. I will work hard to greet you with a better image in the future.”

Jiyeon debuted with T-ara in 2009, gaining love for hit songs like “Bo Peep Bo Peep”, “Roly-Poly”, “Lovey-Dovey” and “I Go Crazy Because of You”. She has also been active as an actress in dramas like “Master of Study”, “Dream High 2”, “Triangle” and “Imitation”.

Hwang Jae Gyun, who debuted as a professional baseball player with Hyundai Unicorns in 2006, has played for Lotte Giants, San Francisco Giants and has been with KT Wiz since 2018.

The couple tied the knot in December 2022.
