Jisoo’s Costar In “Newtopia” Receives Mixed Responses From BLACKPINK Fans

On August 17th, Coupang Play uploaded a new video showing BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and actor Park Jung-min introducing their Korean zombie series “Newtopia”, scheduled to premiere in 2025.

In this video, Park Jung-min introduced his character as Lee Jae-yoon, while Jisoo revealed herself as Lee Jae-yoon’s lover Kang Young-joo. The two expressed their feelings about completing the 7 months of filming, stimulating viewers’ anticipation for the drama’s premiere next year.

After the video was released, BLACKPINK fans immediately searched for information about Jisoo’s costar Park Jung-min. Park Jung-min is known as a trustworthy actor who has gained recognition with his excellent acting in various popular dramas and films such as “Hellbound”, “The 8 Show”, “Smugglers”, etc. 

Some fans recalled past romance projects of Park Jung-min and raised expectations for his chemistry with Jisoo in “Newtopia”.

However, several fans are worried about his collaboration with Jisoo, pointing out that the actor’s expression in the greeting video was too stiff and serious. They compared Park Jung-min to Jisoo’s previous costars, such as Jung Hae-in, and complained that he should have smiled brighter to match Jisoo’s energy.
