Jinyoung’s character in “Love in the Moonlight” was originally supposed to be played by this male idol actor
Jinyoung was the second choice for his role in “Love in the Moonlight”.
In the 2016 historical drama “Love in the Moonlight” led by Park Bo Gum and Kim Yoo Jung, B1A4’s Jinyoung plays Kim Yoon Sung, a handsome scholar from a rich family. He is also the rival of Crown Prince Lee Yeong (Park Bo Gum).
Although he fit the part perfectly, Jinyoung was not the first choice to play Kim Yoon Sung. It was another male idol-turned actor, BTOB’s Yook Sungjae who was first offered to play this character.
Interestingly, Yoon Sungjae was a Inkigayo MC alongside the drama’s female lead Kim Yoo Jung, so fans were looking forward to their reunion in “Love in the Moonlight”. However, Yook Sungjae’s appearance was eventually canceled due to scheduling problems, and Jinyoung was cast.
