Chinese actress Jing Tian has resurfaced in public for the first time after months of speculation surrounding an alleged surrogacy contract and a reported financial dispute involving a wealthy businessman.

According to Chinese media reports circulating online, documents allegedly linked to Jing Tian surfaced on social media in May, including an English-language surrogacy agreement bearing a signature reading “Tian Jing.” Some netizens claimed the signature resembled the actress’s publicly known autograph. However, the authenticity of the documents and the allegations have not been independently verified.

Amid the ongoing controversy, paparazzi footage released on June 1 reportedly showed Jing Tian dining with actor Zhang Wanyi and several entertainment industry acquaintances. The actress appeared relaxed and cheerful despite the intense online scrutiny. Dressed casually and wearing little to no visible makeup, she was seen enjoying the gathering while maintaining a low profile.

Her appearance drew significant attention because she has largely disappeared from public entertainment activities since February, fueling speculation about her whereabouts and future plans.

Chinese entertainment bloggers and tabloid-style outlets have alleged that Jing Tian is attempting to resolve the dispute privately with the businessman involved. According to those claims, the businessman is allegedly seeking reimbursement for gifts, expenses, and damages totaling approximately 250 million yuan (about $34 million USD). Reports further claim that the actress has been attempting to sell luxury properties in Beijing and Shanghai to raise funds. However, none of these allegations have been confirmed by Jing Tian or her representatives, and no court ruling has publicly established the validity of the claims.

Surrogacy remains a highly sensitive issue in China following the high-profile controversy involving actress Zheng Shuang. Chinese authorities have previously taken a strict stance against celebrities involved in surrogacy-related scandals.

As a result, online discussions have speculated about possible professional consequences if the allegations against Jing Tian were ever proven true. At present, though, no official findings or legal determinations have been announced.

Jing Tian previously made headlines in connection with a controversy involving former boyfriend Zhang Jike. Reports at the time alleged that private materials involving the actress had been improperly circulated during a financial dispute, generating widespread public attention and sympathy for the actress.

Despite multiple personal controversies over the years, Jing Tian remains one of the most recognizable actresses in Chinese entertainment, known for projects including Rattan and The Great Wall.
