The story was shared in a video uploaded on July 3 to the YouTube channel Brewing Alcohol with Yoon Joomo. Titled “We’ve Been Friends for 23 Years, But It Feels Like Our First Meeting(?) – Cheon Lok Dam and Jin Goo Came to Visit!”, the episode featured the two longtime friends visiting culinary researcher Yoon Nara.

Jin Goo and Lee Jung have known each other for 23 years. Their friendship began while filming the MBC sitcom Nonstop 5. Recalling those days, Jin Goo said, “We met while working on Nonstop. I had already completed my military service, while he enlisted after the show ended. Back then, we even lived together in a one-room apartment.”

Yoon Nara then asked whether that was shortly after both of them debuted. Lee Jung made his debut in 2002, one year before Jin Goo, who debuted in 2003. “I debuted first,” Lee Jung explained. “We met as rookies on Nonstop 5. Ironically, our season ended up being the final one, and the show wrapped up after we joined.” Jin Goo jokingly added, Nonstop used to be known as a launching pad for stars. Then we came along and it ended,” drawing laughter from everyone on set.

Jin Goo also shared a touching memory from the time they lived together. “One day, I was going through a really difficult period. I bought soju and beer on my way home. Jung was sitting at his keyboard working on music. When he saw how much alcohol I’d brought, he immediately knew something was wrong.”

“He even went back out to buy drinks for himself,” Jin Goo continued. “He normally doesn’t sit with me when I’m drinking because he can’t handle alcohol very well. But that night we drank together, talked for hours, and somehow a song came out of that conversation.”

Jin Goo then revealed the surprising outcome. “That song became Lee Jung’s famous track Sigh,” he said. “I must have sighed hundreds of times that night.” Lee Jung confirmed the story with a smile. “I think he really did sigh about a hundred times,” he recalled. “The song was inspired by his story. The line, ‘I’m afraid that if I tell you I love you, we’ll end up saying goodbye,’ actually came from something he said that night. He couldn’t confess because he was afraid she would leave him.” The singer quickly clarified one detail, adding, “And just to be clear—that woman is not his current wife.”
