Ji Sung and Jeon Mi-do will appear in SBS’s new series “Connection” together
Scheduled to air in 2024, SBS’s new drama “Connection (written by Lee Hyun/ directed by Kim Moon-gyo), is a psychological crime investigation thriller in which an ace detective of a narcotics investigation team, who is forcibly addicted to drugs, reveals the story of a distorted 20-year friendship and its connection with the death of a friend.
In particular, “Diary of a Prosecutor” writer Lee Hyun and “Trolley” director Kim Moon-kyo joined forces to make “Connection”. Ji Sung and Jeon Mi-do are also expected to present extraordinary character transformations.
Ji Sung will play the role of Jang Jae-kyung, head of the narcotics investigation team at Anhyeon Police Station, who is respected by juniors and trusted by seniors within the police force. He keeps friendship, police work and family away from each other to practice his motto “There’s no weakness in success without connections”. Despite being completely dedicated to his police work with no weaknesses, he turns out to be a person who always follows the rules and principles. Ji Sung, who has digested various characters with solid acting skills, is expected to make another breakthrough in his acting career with the role of Jang Jae-kyung.
Jeon Mi-do will star in the drama as Oh Yoon-jin, a social affairs reporter for Anhyeon Economic Daily who is determined and outspoken. With her personality that allows her to boldly make arrogant remarks toward anyone regardless of their status, she was unfairly fired from her previous job because she couldn’t just overlook injustice.
The production team stated, “Ji Sung and Jeon Mi-do will undoubtedly enhance the completeness of ‘Connection’ with their acting skills which are amazing without explanations”, adding “Please look forward to Ji Sung and Jeon Mi-do’s performances in ‘Connection’, which will mark a milestone in the K-genre content by addressing serious issues”.
Meanwhile, SBS’s new drama “Connection” will premiere in 2024.
