Ji Suk-jin Won Producer Award Despite Absence Due To Health Reason, “I Couldn’t Come Because Of Articles”

The 2023 SBS Entertainment Awards was held at SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong, Seoul on the evening of December 30th. The award ceremony was hosted by Lee Sang-min, Lee Hyun-yi, and Kim Ji-eun.

“Running Man” team won Program of the Year. Receiving the award, PD Choi Hyung-in said. “There are three things I want to tell you all. First, ‘Running Man’ will mark its 15th anniversary next year. We’ve been the No.1 OTT Entertainment Show of the Year for 4 years”.

The PD continued, “Second, Ji suk-jin may return to the show sooner than expected. Finally, we will make effective use of the (member) leasing system. Please knock on our door a lot”.

Later, Producer Award, which is given to the broadcaster with the best performance, was also announced. Ji Seok-jin won but he was absent due to health reasons so Yoo Jae-suk received the award on behalf of his close brother.

Yoo Jae-suk made a phone call with Ji Seok-jin on the stage. Although only his voice could be heard, Ji Seok-jin said, “What a regret. I’ve been waiting to attend the award ceremony. This is an award I really wanted to receive. Thank you for acknowledging me”. 

He continued, “Actually, there were some articles so I couldn’t come to the award ceremony today”, explaining the reason for his absence. He added, “I’d like to congratulate ‘Running Man’ on the award. I’ll meet everyone again on ‘Running Man’ soon”.
