Jeon Somi Takes Down Controversial Starbucks Video, Opens Up about Feeling Fragile, Asks Everyone to Show Love

Jeon Somi’s been catching heat lately for dropping a video in which she was sipping from a Starbucks tumbler, raising suspicions of her doing a paid promotion for the brand, which has been globally boycotted in relation to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

In a recent chat with a fan, when the fan told Jeon Somi, “You’ve been dealing with a lot lately, hope you’re staying strong,” she admitted to having taken the video down.

Jeon Somi asked everyone to spread love and support in the coming year. “I love you guys so much, please show some love back… No matter what you say, I still love you all. You gotta know that. I’m kinda fragile.”

Some netizens are still criticizing Jeon Somi for not giving a direct apology and painting herself as a victim here. Some are even comparing her to the Selena Gomez of K-pop.

Here’s the full chat of Jeon Somi with the fan:

Fan: You’ve been through a lot lately, hope you stay strong.

Somi: Thanks. Let’s hope everyone spreads love and encouragement. I deleted that TikTok video.

I love you guys so much, please show some love back… No matter what you say, I still love you all. You gotta know that. I’m kinda fragile. See you next year.
