Dating reality shows continue to dominate global entertainment, with hits like Single’s Inferno gaining massive international attention. While these programs typically feature everyday participants, celebrities including actors and even a few idols have occasionally joined, either in search of love or increased visibility.
Now, a surprising revelation from Jeon Somi has sparked fresh discussion about idols potentially entering the dating show scene.

In a recent video uploaded to her YouTube channel, Somi shared a glimpse of her workout routine alongside her personal trainer. As they exercised together, the conversation took an unexpected turn when her trainer mentioned that viewers had compared Somi to Kim Min Gee, a contestant from Single’s Inferno 5.
This prompted Somi to recall a surprising moment from the past. She revealed that she had once received a random call from the production team of Single’s Inferno.
Looking slightly embarrassed, Somi admitted that she had actually gone a step further secretly submitting an application for the show. According to her trainer, Somi even used her trainer’s phone number during the process.
Somi explained that the application required photos, so she took pictures at the gym and included them in her submission. Although she ultimately did not appear on the show, the story amused fans and quickly gained attention online.

Despite not making it onto the program, Somi didn’t completely shut down the possibility. She hinted that joining a dating show in the future isn’t entirely off the table, saying it “could happen.”
Her unexpected confession has left fans both shocked and intrigued raising the question of whether more active K-pop idols might consider stepping into the world of dating reality TV in the future.
