Jeon Somi Reveals Struggles Of Creating Her Own Cosmetic Brand, “I Had To Fight With The Factory”

On August 16th, Jeon Somi appeared on Hyeri’s YouTube content “Hyeri’s Club” as a guest. As soon as she showed up, she gave Hyeri products from her own cosmetic brand GLYF.

Hyeri asked, “Did you use the highlighter from your brand?”. Jeon Somi sighed and replied, “That highlighter broke my heart.”

Jeon Somi carefully shared, “I really want to say to everyone. I can resolve this misunderstanding completely. But I can’t open my mouth easily”, adding “But I heard many people use it in the salon shops. It’s great for performance or shooting.”

She continued, “I had to fight with the factory saying, ‘Can’t we make it into brighter color?’, ‘We need to lower the chroma of this one. Is it possible?’, ‘Can we get some samples of these first?’, etc.”, revealing how hard she struggled to produce her own makeup products.

Jeon Somi confessed, “This is like a real battlefield. This makeup world. I was so shocked. I’m learning this world from the bottom trying to minimize the mistakes.”

Earlier in March, Jeon Somi unveiled the price of the highlighter palette, which was 43,000 won, when opening her official channel for her brand GLYF. As a result, a controversy arose as some netizens pointed out that the price was expensive.
