Jeon Somi revealed that having three passports allows her to handle overseas schedules faster and more smoothly than others.
On the recent episode of MBC’s variety show ‘Radio Star,’ Somi appeared as a guest.
When asked by MC Kim Gura about her changing status every time she goes abroad, Somi replied, “My dad has dual nationality from Canada and the Netherlands, and my mom has South Korean nationality, so I also have three passports.”
She displayed the three passports she had prepared and explained, “I bring the appropriate passport based on the overseas schedule. When I go to Europe, I use the Netherlands passport. For the US or Canada, I use the Canadian passport, and for Asian countries, I bring the South Korean passport.“
She added, “Thanks to having multiple passports, I go through immigration without waiting during overseas trips,” and humorously said, “I feel somewhat invincible when entering other countries.”
Somi also mentioned her agency, The Black Label. She said, “I’m the only female singer in the agency surrounded by male hip-hop artists. Older male artists seem burdened by my presence, constantly asking if I have no schedule or if I don’t go home, especially producer Teddy.”
