During the first part of the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards, held on July 18 at Paradise City in Incheon, the Upbit Popular Star Award, determined by global fan votes, was presented to Park Bo-gum, Lee Jun-hyuk, IU, and Lee Hyeri. However, instead of Lee Jun-hyuk, fellow actor Lee Jun-young was mistakenly called to the stage.
Realizing the error, host Jeon Hyun-moo quickly addressed the situation, stating, “It’s Lee Jun-hyuk. Lee Jun-young is definitely a star too. I should have pronounced it more clearly my apologies.”
The mistake was handled on-stage with poise, as Lee Jun-young promptly handed the trophy to Lee Jun-hyuk, and the two actors shared a friendly hug to defuse the tension. Lee Jun-hyuk lightheartedly commented, “I was hoping something funny would happen when I got this award and here it is.”

Despite the graceful recovery, the incident has sparked criticism on social media and online communities, where some viewers demanded an official apology from Jeon Hyun-moo. The criticism intensified after Jeon posted a celebratory message on his social media praising Kian84, another award recipient, without acknowledging the earlier error.

Comments such as “Apologize to Lee Jun-young first,” “That was extremely disrespectful,” and “This isn’t the first time—when mistakes repeat, they stop being mistakes,” began to circulate widely online.
While many acknowledged that live broadcasting can lead to human error, others criticized what they perceived as a lack of sensitivity and professionalism, especially in a high-profile event.
