NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang showcased his affection for Korean culture and K-pop during his appearance on the popular tvN talk show You Quiz on the Block. The tech executive appeared on the June 10 broadcast, where he discussed everything from Korean food and drinking culture to his favorite K-pop songs, delighting viewers with his enthusiasm for Korea.

During the interview, host Yoo Jae-suk mentioned reports that Jensen Huang had enjoyed a dinner gathering with major Korean business leaders, including Koo Kwang-mo, Chey Tae-won, and Lee Hae-jin.

Jensen Huang spoke fondly of the experience, revealing that it was his first time trying samgyeopsal (Korean pork belly barbecue). “Last night was really wonderful. It was my first time eating samgyeopsal, and it was amazing. I’m still thinking about how good it tasted.”

When asked whether he was affected by drinking soju and somaek (a mix of soju and beer) the night before an early-morning recording, Jensen Huang laughed and replied that he can handle alcohol quite well. “I’ve visited Korea for many years,” he said, adding that Koreans seem to be exceptionally good drinkers.

The NVIDIA chief also revealed that everyone participated in grilling the meat, joking that Koo Kwang-mo did the most cooking while his own role was simply “eating.”

The conversation later turned to music, with Yoo Jae-suk noting that Jensen Huang is known to enjoy K-pop. When asked about his favorite songs, Jensen Huang immediately praised the hit track Golden. “Who doesn’t like ‘Golden’? It’s a really great song.”

He also expressed admiration for Hwasa, saying he enjoys her songs “Good Goodbye” and her recent release “So Cute.” Yoo Jae-suk appeared impressed that Jensen Huang was familiar with Hwasa’s latest music, prompting laughter from the audience. Jensen Huang continued to praise the singer, saying she is both an excellent dancer and vocalist.

Despite his admiration for Hwasa, Jensen Huang emphasized that “Golden” remains his favorite. According to the NVIDIA CEO, the song carries significance beyond its musical appeal. “Golden is more than just a good song. It is a very important song for Korea.” He explained that he believes the track helped introduce Korean culture to global audiences while showcasing the passion and energy of younger generations.

Before concluding the interview, Jensen Huang broadened his praise beyond music. He enthusiastically celebrated various aspects of Korean culture, declaring: “K-pop, K-culture, K-beauty, and even Korean fried chicken are all the best.”
