Jennie Composed Song with Matt Champion Since 3 Years Ago?

Fans are angry that YG has hindered Jennie from releasing her collaboration song with Matt Champion for 3 entire years.

At 2PM (KST) on March 8, BLACKPINK’s Jennie dropped her collaboration track with Matt Champion, “Slow Motion”.

Considering that this is Jennie’s first official music release after establishing her personal label ODD ATELIER, “Slow Motion” is already garnering massive attention. However, what fans were most surprised about was not the song on its own, but the date that it went into production.

In particular, according to promotional images of the track and Jennie’s comment on one of Matt Champion’s Instagram posts, it can be speculated that Jennie participated in composing “Slow Motion” way back in July 2021.

This means that the song was held back for 3 entire years, and judging from Jennie’s excitement for the release, many are suspecting that YG was the reason why the release of “Slow Motion” was delayed.

Below are some comments from netizens:

  • What the hell is wrong with YG? They are certainly not lacking in songs, they just don’t want BLACKPINK to release anything.
  • “You & Me”’s official release also took 3 years. YG is the scum of earth
  • Just how many songs are YG hiding from us???
  • Yea it is a really good thing that Jennie don’t sign with YG for individual schedules…
