Jannabi’s Choi Jung-hoon & T-ara’s Soyeon Pay Tribute To The Late Shinsadong Tiger

Famous singers who had worked with Shinsadong Tiger expressed their condolences to the late producer

On February 24th, Jannabi’s Choi Jung-hoon made a tribute post on his SNS account, saying “I heard about the sad news of composer Shinsadong Tiger”. He added, “To me, and also to Jannabi, I gained so much strength from him that I personally thought he was my lifesaver. He was an older brother who always cheered on me with pleasant and loud advice whenever I had a hard time. Without him, I might have collapsed due to trials”.

Shinsadong Tiger discovered Jannabi, which was active as an indie band during their early days, and produced their first album “Rocket”. Recalling the past, Choi Jung-hoon said, “He was so warm, funny, honest, and above all, he was a genuine person”.

He continued, “With my solemn heart, I’m writing this condolence message hoping that it can slightly warm you up on the way there. Before becoming an acknowledged musician and producer, you were a loyal neighborhood brother of Jannabi. May you rest in peace”.

Lastly, he said, “Thank you so much, Tiger hyung! I hope you rest in peace there. I will never forget the courage you gave me during my hard time as well as the words you told me. Thank you hyung! See you later! There are already so many things I want to tell you”.

On the 23rd, T-ara’s Soyeon also released an Instagram Story, saying “I heard the news while I’m abroad. I had many great memories thanks to you. Thank you so much. I hope you rest in peace in a place where your body and mind feel more comfortable”.

Making their debut in 2021, Tri.be decided to continue their activities according to the will of Shinsadong Tiger. The group’s agency TR Entertainment said, “Since ‘Diamond’ is the last album that Shinsadong Tiger prepared and released with Tri.be when he was alive, we will continue the broadcasting promotion of the album according to his will”.

They continued, “We will do our best to help Tri.be members recover their minds as soon as possible during the promotion. May he rest in peace. Once again, we would like to express our deepest condolences to the deceased”.

Born in 1983, Shinsadong Tiger (real name Shin Ho-yang) made his debut in 2005 by composing the song “Namgwa Yeo” in The Jadu’s 4th album. His representative hit songs are EXID’s “Up & Down”, “DDD”, T-ara’s “Roly Poly”, Apink’s “No No No”, “Remember”, MOMOLAND’s “Bboom Bboom”, and Hyuna’s “Bubble Pop”.

Earlier on the 23rd, Shinsadong Tiger was found dead in his studio. An acquaintance found him and reported to 119. Reporting Shinsadong Tiger’s death, the media said he had been suffering from financial difficulties. According to a source, the producer borrowed 100,000 won from a composer friend. However, netizens raised doubts about whether Shinsadong Tiger didn’t have money knowing he was a famous producer owning royalties from many hit songs.

Shinsadong Tiger’s funeral will be held privately at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital.
