On April 17, Rolling Stone released an exclusive interview video featuring J-Hope, where he reflected on his journey and the significance of BTS coming back together as a full group.

When asked how it feels to reunite as seven members again, J-Hope explained that he had been focusing on solo activities after completing his military service. However, being back with the group brought a sense of completeness. He noted that the members naturally fill in the gaps for one another, emphasizing that each person plays an essential role. He added that the reunion itself is meaningful, especially because it brings joy to fans and that makes him incredibly happy as well.

He also revisited the emotions behind his solo track Arson, particularly the lyrics questioning “put out the fire or let it burn.” J-Hope revealed that when writing the song in 2022, he had moments of doubt, wondering if it was right to continue at the peak of overwhelming love and attention. At the time, he even considered stepping back while everything was at its height.

However, his perspective has since evolved. He shared that he now sees those thoughts as part of his growth, believing that life’s different experiences shape who he is. Through that journey, he realized that continuing forward rather than extinguishing the “fire” was the most authentic choice for him.

When discussing the idea of ending a career at its peak, J-Hope admitted that it’s not as simple as making a personal decision. He explained that he is deeply influenced by the people around him, and he had to reflect on whether he could bear the emotional weight of stepping away. Ultimately, he concluded that continuing to move forward passionately aligns most with his true self.

Speaking about BTS’s new album, he highlighted how the creative process felt fresh and unique. For the first time, all seven members traveled to the United States together for music sessions, immersing themselves in a new environment and culture. This experience, he said, made the album feel more dynamic and different from their previous work, with a variety of new sounds and styles.

As for the goals of what fans often call “BTS 2.0,” J-Hope expressed a surprisingly simple outlook. He said that rather than setting grand ambitions, the fact that the group has reunited and continues to make music together already carries immense meaning. He believes that by enjoying the present and moving forward naturally, achievements will follow on their own.

He concluded by sharing that their true goal is to keep making music happily, maintaining their strong bond as a group while continuing to connect with fans for as long as possible.
