On April 14, a video titled “I Still Want More (Status) | Behind the Scenes of Perfect Crown” was uploaded to IU‘s YouTube channel. In the video, IU introduced herself in character, saying, “I’m Seong Hui Ju, a 9th grader at Vermilion Bird Palace,” fully immersing herself in the role she was set to portray that day.
Preparing to act as a 16-year-old student, IU (32) laughed shyly and admitted, “Isn’t this a bit of a stretch?” She revealed that she had initially suggested to the director and writer that they cast a younger actress instead. However, she explained, “They said the younger version’s screen time is short but important, so they wanted me to do it myself,” sharing the behind-the-scenes story of how she ended up taking on the role.

Scenes from the shoot were also revealed, showing IU transformed into her 16-year-old character in a school uniform. Despite the age gap, she pulled off the look effortlessly, leaving viewers impressed by how natural and convincing she appeared further cementing her reputation as the ultimate “ageless beauty.”
Meanwhile, the drama Perfect Crown, which premiered on April 10, recorded 8.2% viewership in the Seoul metropolitan area and 7.8% nationwide, ranking No.1 among Friday-Saturday dramas and proving itself as one of the most anticipated hits of the first half of 2026.
