In a video posted on August 14 to her official YouTube channel, “이지금,” the singer revealed her unannounced appearance on set with a bouquet of flowers, fulfilling a promise to attend the last broadcast. The episode was recorded before the show’s August 1 finale.
“I came to keep my promise since it’s the last broadcast,” IU said, catching Park Bo-gum completely off guard. Overcome with emotion, he broke down in tears and thanked her, saying, “*What is this, really? Thank you so much. I had no idea.*”
IU admitted she was also nervous about the surprise, adding, “*I think Bo-gum really liked it, so it was worth it. It’s actually midnight right now, and I’m worried about how the audience will get home. Thank you so much for staying until the end. I’ll watch the show too. I really loved The Seasons.”
The two met again a week later at Park Bo-gum’s solo fan meeting on August 1 at Jangchung Arena in Seoul. IU teased, “He’s a very organized person, so he probably didn’t plan to see me this often. He must feel burdened, like, ‘Jieun, you’re here again? Don’t you have work?’”
IU also gave fans a peek inside the meticulously prepared waiting room, praising Park Bo-gum’s attention to detail. “He even said the gift in the shopping bag isn’t enough. He told me to use it since the sunlight is so strong these days. Thanks, Bo-gum,” she said.
Recalling a previous gift from him, she shared, “Bo-gum once gave me a sky-blue checkered shirt, and I’ve worn it all summer long. Right now, I only have two outfits at home — that checkered shirt and another checkered shirt. I haven’t opened this hat yet, but since Bo-gum has such great taste, I’m sure it’ll be part of my daily ‘uniform.’”
IU’s thoughtful gesture and their warm friendship have touched fans, making this one of the most talked-about moments from The Seasons’s final days.
