IU Goes Viral for Protecting Fans Amid Idol Security’s Violence Controversy 

As BOYNEXTDOOR’s agency apologized for a recent idol security violence controversy, a video of IU protecting fans draws attention

On December 20, an article with the title “IU warning security guards not to push fans” was posted on online communities and social media. The article included a video capturing IU’s appearance at the airport.

In the video, a crowd had gathered at the airport to catch a glimpse of IU. As one fan approached IU to take a photo, a security guard on IU’s left side pushed the fan away, blocking their attempt.

Upon witnessing this, IU made a gesture to the security guard to prevent him from pushing fans. Later on, a netizen at the scene revealed that IU told the guard, “Please don’t push so much”, protecting her fans.

This video stands out in light of the recent idol security violence controversy, as a bodyguard of BOYNEXTDOOR was spotted pushing a fan at the airport violently. The agency of BOYNEXTDOOR has since released an official statement in apology to the situation and stating that they have contacted the affected fan.

As a result, many netizens have been praising IU’s consideration for her fans via comments such as, “Even a top star like IU thinks this way… Seems like there are many celebrities who don’t understand the topic,” and “Security personnel should ensure the safety not only of the star but also of the fans who love them.”
