Actress Kim Sae Ron, who is accused of drunk driving, was spotted playing poker at a Hold’em pub after claiming financial difficulties
On April 4th, Dispatch revealed photos of Kim Sae Ron playing poker at a Hold’em pub, which are said to have been taken back in February.
In the photos, Kim Sae Ron can be seen sitting at a poker table playing Texas Hold’em with male acquaintances. She is also seen holding chips, smiling brightly, or focusing on the game.
Dispatch also reported that according to a source, Kim Sae Ron charged her game account more than once at the Hold’em pub, ordered beer around midnight, and played for at least 3 hours.
Last month, a witness account of Kim Sae Ron at the Hold’em pub was reported. Although no photos were released at the time, the recent release of Kim Sae Ron’s photos confirmed their claims to be the truth.
The Hold’em pub in question is not an illegal gambling establishment. Therefore, Kim Sae Ron playing Hold’em is not a problem, but her current situation and position are worth considering.
Previously in May of last year, Kim Sae Ron caused an accident while drunk-driving near Hakdong intersection in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. As a result, 57 nearby stores and other places were damaged by the loss of electricity supply, and restoration took about three hours.
At the time, Kim Sae Ron was arrested by the police at the scene. However, she refused to measure her alcohol concentration level and demanded a blood collection test instead. Later on, the blood test result showed her blood alcohol concentration was 0.227%, significantly exceeding the license suspension standard (0.08%).
At the first trial held on March 8th, Kim Sae Ron’s attorney claimed that the actress is “trying to avoid alcohol as much as possible” and “struggling with living expenses as the sole breadwinner of her family.” At the same time, Kim Sae Ron apologized and said she is reflecting on her actions. In response, the prosecution demanded a fine of 20 million won (approx. $16,700).
However, the recently released photos of Kim Sae Ron seem to contradict her side’s claim that she is avoiding alcohol and struggling with living expenses.
On the other hand, the first trial verdict for Kim Sae Ron will proceed at 9:50 am (KST) on April 5th.
