Interview with ARMYs amid the exciting atmosphere at BTS’s concert in LA

BTS met ARMYs around the world and finished their first offline concert of “Permission To Dance On Stage – LA” at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles on November 27th (local time).

A day before the performance, the hall was crowded with ARMYs (BTS’s fandom) from all over the world coming to watch BTS’s concert. Although they had been waiting for a long time since early in the morning to enter the concert hall, they still looked excited and happy.

Due to the pandemic spread, this was the first offline concert to have been held after more than 2 years, and the heat was hotter than ever as all tickets, including pre-orders, were sold out and attracted about 300,000 fans for 4 days of the concert. All of them brought their ‘ARMY BOMB’ and enjoyed the festive atmosphere of the offline concert in cheering clothes that showed their individuality. Each ARMY decorated themselves in different ways, but all gathered in LA because of their love for BTS. Sport Kyeonghyang was able to meet with several fans.

Mariko (24 years old) and JT (29 years old) live in LA, and they became friends with each other thanks to BTS. The two met each other at the “Love Yourself” concert held at the STAPLES Center in LA in 2018. Been ARMYs since 2017, both had attended BTS’s world tour before the pandemic occurred. They shared, “It’s been a really long time since I last saw this scene. I’m really excited to watch the stages that I’ve only seen on screen through online concerts with my own eyes.”

Regarding the reason why she liked BTS, JT said, “I fell in love with BTS after seeing their positive vibe and funny personality through interviews”. She also revealed that BTS had had a positive impact on her real life. JT said, “Whenever I have a hard time at work, the warm messages from them give me strength. I also made friends with many people, including Mariko, thanks to BTS. We like the same singers, give comfort to each other, and live happily together.”

Mariko also expressed her happiness, saying, “I had a hard time suffering from the pandemic, but I think friends who met at the concerts have become great supporters to each other. There has been no large-scale performance like this for a long time, so I’m really looking forward to it. Everyone got vaccinated and will enjoy the concert while following safety rules. I also feel safe to be with people who have high consideration of safety, such as recommending vaccines to take in order to attend the event. I can’t wait to see ARMY ocean.”

Following today’s performance, BTS’s “Permission To Dance On Stage – LA” concert will continue to be held on Nov 28th, Dec 1st and Dec 2nd . BTS’s agency, Big Hit Music, allows fans to enjoy the concert through a real-time live broadcast on a large electronic screen at a nearby Youtube theater with 6400 seats. The last concert day on Dec 2nd will be broadcast live online.
