A Taiwanese social media influencer, known online as the “Face-Tuning Queen” of medical aesthetics, has been arrested after police discovered illegal narcotics at her home in New Taipei City. The 29-year-old woman, surnamed Wu, who boasts tens of thousands of followers on Instagram, was taken into custody after a raid uncovered marijuana vape cartridges and MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy), raising serious questions about her alleged cosmetic business and online persona.
According to the New Taipei police, authorities had received a tip-off that Wu was in possession of drugs. After conducting a surveillance operation and collecting sufficient evidence, law enforcement obtained a search warrant. On December 4, officers raided Wu’s residence in Sanchong District on Dingwen Road, where they found three marijuana vape cartridges weighing a total of 26.3 grams and 16 MDMA pills weighing 24.3 grams, along with a pipe used for cannabis consumption. Wu admitted that the substances were for her personal use.

Wu was transferred to the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office following the search and was charged under Taiwan’s Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act. Police reiterated their “zero tolerance” stance on drug-related crimes and affirmed that investigations would continue to trace the origin of the substances.
Wu’s online identity has further intensified public attention. She describes herself on Instagram as a “Master of Custom Medical Aesthetic Face Transformation,” claiming to have served over 10,000 clients across Taiwan. She promotes herself as offering services in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung through “legally licensed” clinics. However, authorities revealed that Wu’s registered business, established in 2022, is officially categorized as a cosmetics wholesaler based in Zhongshan District, Taipei. It lacks a physical clinic, medical license, or any publicly listed address. Clients reportedly must book appointments via private messages on Instagram, raising suspicions about the legitimacy of her operations.
This scandal is likely to deal a significant blow to Wu’s brand and career, especially given the tight legal regulations and social taboos surrounding drug use in Taiwan. Many netizens and former followers have expressed shock, particularly those who believed in Wu’s claims of professionalism in the medical beauty industry.
The case is ongoing, and the authorities have pledged to pursue all leads to dismantle any potential drug supply networks connected to the incident.
