“I’m bisexual”… 18-year-old actor, half-forcefully come out

British actor Kit Connor (18), who is known for Netflix’s series “Heartstopper”, came out half-forcefully.

Connor tweeted on Oct 31st (local time), “Back for a minute. I’m bi. Congrats for forcing an 18 year old to out himself. I think some of you missed the point of the show. Bye.”

“Heartstopper”, which was released in April this year, tells the story of Charlie, a gay schoolboy who falls in love with classmate Nick, whom he sits next to in his new form. Connor played Nick.

However, after the release of “Heartstopper”, some netizens bombarded Connor with questions related to sexual identity, and it seems that he was forced to come out due to stress.

Connor, who also appeared in British pop star Elton John’s biopic “Rocketman”, confessed shortly after appearing in “Heartstopper”, “We’re still all so young, and to start sort of speculating about our sexualities and maybe pressuring us to come out when maybe we’re not ready.”

He added, “I mean, for me, I just feel like I’m perfectly confident and comfortable in my sexuality, but I don’t feel the need to really, you know, I’m not too big on labels and things like that. I’m not massive about that, and I don’t feel like I need to label myself, especially not publicly.”

Joe Locke, who played Nick’s boyfriend in “Heartstopper”, cheered Connor, “You owe nothing to anyone. I’m so proud of you my friend.”
