ILY:1 And LOONA’s Former Member Received Excessive Messages+Agency Asked Fans To Stop

ILY:1 members complained of mental distress due to excessive comments and messages from fans

On May 4th, a post titled “ILY:1’s Ririka has received a lot of Bubble messages that have crossed the line these days” was made on the online community theqoo. The post was accompanied by a photo of ILY:1 member Ririka talking directly with fans through a communication app.

Ririka told fans, “Jokes should not cross the line,” “I often see posts that crossed the line on Bubble (fan communication app) these days. I’m also a person,” and “If you keep doing that, I might become too scared to send Bubble messages.”

To the fans who asked them to share their practice room CCTV footage, she showed a firm response, saying, “Sharing the practice room CCTV is a bit…,” and “We also need privacy.”

Later on the same day, FC ENM, the agency of ILY:1, posted a notice related to the communication app on the group’s official social media account. FC ENM said, “Recently, our artists are under a lot of stress as they continue to receive messages that cause fear or anxiety through personal social media accounts and communication apps.” “We sincerely ask fans who always give generous love to refrain from making remarks that hurt the hearts of our artists who only want to get closer to you,” it added.

In response to the continuous excessive messages, FC ENM finally issued a warning by disclosing legally prohibited content such as “obscene code words or harsh swear words” and “information that slanders artists without grounds.”We ask for your cooperation and understanding so that we can create a healthy fan culture with our artists,” it said. “We will do our best to protect our artists through constant monitoring.”

ILY:1 is not the only one experiencing this problem. Yves, a former member of the group LOONA, also received excessive messages in the communication app. One fan sent a message to Yves, saying, “I don’t think it’s something that an idol will wear.” Yves responded, “What should an idol wear?” and, “I’m an idol, but what I wear is not idol-worthy?”
