ILLIT’s Agency Takes Legal Action Against Malicious Commenters: “No Leniency”

Belift Lab, the agency representing girl group ILLIT, has announced legal actions regarding the infringement of their artists' rights.

On June 10, Belift Lab released an official statement regarding their girl group ILLIT. Below is the full statement:

“Hello,

This is Belift Lab.

We have taken legal action against individuals who have posted defamatory, insulting, sexually harassing, false, and malicious comments about ILLIT. We would like to provide an update on the progress of these actions.

Despite being a rookie artist who debuted only three months ago, ILLIT has been targeted by highly malicious and excessive defamatory posts. We have determined that urgent and strong legal measures are necessary to protect our rookie artists. Therefore, even before announcing how to report such issues, we have been collecting and documenting malicious posts and comments across all domestic and international channels since their debut. We have submitted complaints to investigative agencies.

The complaints include individuals who posted malicious comments on domestic communities (Naver, Nate, TheQoo, DC Inside, Instiz, Ilgan Best, etc.), music sites (Melon, Bugs Music, Genie Music, etc.), and international social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.). We have collected these posts in real-time, even if they were deleted to avoid leaving evidence.

As a result, we have filed complaints with the police against hundreds of individuals, and investigations are currently underway. We will continue to document and regularly file complaints about malicious posts.

We will take strict measures against those responsible for malicious acts based on evidence collected through fan reports and our own monitoring. We emphasize that there will be no leniency or settlements under any circumstances.

Your interest and reports are of great help to our legal actions. We ask for your active reports of any malicious posts or illegal activities related to ILLIT to our official legal response account ([email protected]).

We always appreciate your unwavering support and dedication. We will continue to strive to protect the rights of our artists.

Thank you.”
