ILLIT is Doing Better than NewJeans on Japanese Music Chart?

Despite NewJeans’ immense success in Japan, it seems that a song from ILLIT is still surpassing them on the Japanese music chart.

On June 30, a topic titled “ILLITs ‘Magnetic’ Ranking on Japan’s Apple Music Chart” was published on the Korean forum ‘theqoo’, drawing attention.

The topic, which includes a screenshot of the rankings on Japan’s Apple Music, reveals ILLIT’s “Magnetic” at No.5, standing proudly amid various popular Japanese artists. Meanwhile, NewJeans’ “How Sweet” and “Supernatural” landed on No.12 and 13, respectively.

It seems that despite it having been 4 months since the release of “Magnetic”, the song is still charting higher than NewJeans’ newer tracks on one of the most popular music platforms in Japan.

Below are some comments from netizens:

  • New Jeans’ new song just came out, but it’s lower than “Magnetic”? That’s shocking

  • Well, “Magnetic” is the kind of song that Japanese people really like
