On January 9, BELIFT LAB released an official statement revealing that individuals had illegally obtained the members’ personal information and engaged in behavior that threatened their safety. The agency emphasized that the situation had reached a level that could no longer be tolerated and confirmed that legal action is currently underway.

According to the agency, the incident took place after ILLIT completed an official overseas schedule and returned to Korea while handling personal activities. Despite detecting signs of leaked return information in advance and changing both the departure airport and flight time to protect the artists, multiple individuals reportedly managed to acquire the revised flight details and followed the members to the airport.

These individuals allegedly approached the members directly, attempted to engage them in conversation, criticized their mask-wearing, and demanded photos against their will. The agency stressed that the leaked flight information was strictly confidential, known only to the artists themselves and a very limited number of staff, yet appeared to be disseminated in real time.

BELIFT LAB described the illegal acquisition of private information and appearance at undisclosed schedules as “a very serious issue.” The company stated that it has requested full cooperation from the relevant airline, including verification of information access records and system logs, to identify how the data was leaked.

The agency further emphasized that it is continuously collecting evidence related to stalking behavior and will pursue strict legal accountability under a zero-tolerance policy, with no possibility of settlements or leniency.

BELIFT LAB concluded by reaffirming its commitment to ensuring that ILLIT can continue their activities in a safe environment. The company also urged fans to actively report and cooperate in preventing stalking behavior, stating that all available measures will be used to protect the artists.
