“Illegal filming” Jung Bobby was demanded three and a half years in prison… “He isn’t reflecting at all”

The prosecution demanded three and a half years in prison for singer Jung Bobby (43 years old, real name Jung Dae-wook), who was accused of sexually assaulting and illegally filming his ex-lover.

On the afternoon of Oct 19th, the prosecution asked the court to sentence him to three and a half years in prison on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes.

The secondary victim attended the trial as a witness and the interrogation was conducted privately. The victim is said to have asked for severe punishment as Jung is not reflecting at all and is claiming innocence.

Meanwhile, Jung is accused of illegally filming aspiring singer A, a woman in her 20s who is his ex-lover, on July 30, 2019. In April 2020, A informed people around her that Jung illegally filmed and sexually assaulted her body without consent, then made an extreme choice.

From July 12th to September 24th of 2020, Jung is also suspected of assaulting another woman, B, and illegally filming her.

A’s family filed a complaint with the Seoul Mapo Police Station in May 2020 against Jung for violating the Sexual Violence Crime Punishment Act. On November 18th of the same year, the police sent him to the prosecution with an opinion to indictment. On the other hand, the allegations of rape and bodily injury, which were accused together at the time, were sent with a non-prosecution opinion due to insufficient evidence.

On January 29th of last year, the prosecution dismissed Jung as “no charges”. A’s family appealed, and the Seoul High Prosecutor’s Office ordered a re-investigation. In January of last year, another victim, B, filed a complaint. The Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office handed the two cases over to trial together.

Jung’s sentencing hearing will be held at 10 a.m (KST) on December 14th.
