On October 14, 2021, V was caught in a dating rumor with the daughter of Paradise Group’s president – Mr. Philip Jeon due to a photo of them intimately going to an event together. However, soon after, HYBE Labels – BTS‘s management company spoke up about this rumor: “The family of President Choi Yoon Jung and V are just acquaintances.”
It seemed that V would keep quiet and make no move regarding this rumor, but in the early morning of October 15, he kept posting stories that were suspected to be related to those false rumors.
V posted an Instagram story, saying: “This is pathetic. I want to sing UGH! so bad” with a puking icon. “UGH!” is a BTS’s song about antifans and those who spread false rumors. In the song, there are harsh criticisms such as: “Nudge nudge, touching me for no reason, nudge nudge, yeah. If there’s no reaction, just soak it in, splish splash, yeah. The truths may become false, the lies may become true. In this place, everyone becomes someone with perfect ethics. And perfect judgment, that’s funny”
Momo, Jihyo (TWICE)
During a live broadcast, TWICE members Momo and Jihyo were chatting with fans when suddenly negative comments appeared. Jihyo at that time said, “There are a lot of people saying nice things, but there are also a lot of weird comments, aren’t they, Momo?”. Momo replied, “Never mind… I feel like this world has all kinds of people… So that’s understandable.”
Jihyo then added, “People should care about the things they like. I don’t understand why do people try to find things that they hate and say terrible things about them. What a waste of time, and time is something very precious.”
Momo then questioned, “Aren’t they saying these things because they’re jealous?”.
Jennie (BLACKPINK)
BLACKPINK is a group that often has internal conflicts in its fandom. At the beginning of 2020, BLACKPINK appeared on Vogue, and once again, the controversy about Jennie being biased by YG resurfaced. Coincidentally, the group also received a question about the favoritism issue between members in the interview of this magazine.
