“I will never care about his appearance” – Did Son Ye-jin lie about her ideal type in the past?
Along with actress Son Ye-jin announcing her marriage with her co-star and lover Hyun Bin, her remark about ideal type on a broadcast in the past is being re-examined.
Son Ye-jin appeared on SBS Power FM’s “2 O’clock Escape Cultwo Show” in October 2013 and talked about her ideal type.
When a radio listener asked about her ideal type, she said, “I hope he would be 175cm or taller”, adding, “He could be shorter than that. I won’t look at his appearance. I hope I would be more attracted by his personality as much as I look at him”.
She explained, “Normally, I communicate well when I meet friends who are girls. But I think there is a barrier in my communication with friends who are boys”, adding, “Men do not understand women’s words well and they seem to accept everything one-dimensional, so I want to have sensible communication with men.”
When asked about her ideal type on the broadcast of KBS2’s “Entertainment Weekly” in July 2016, Son Ye-jin said, “I hope he would be a nice person. I really don’t care about his appearance”. However, when selecting her ideal type in the “Ideal Type World Cup” corner, she chose actor Park Hae-il, raising doubts.
Son Ye-jin got to know Hyun Bin through the movie “Negotiation”, which was released in September 2018. When a dating rumor broke out as the two were seen shopping together at a mart in the U.S in January 2019, both Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin denied it. However, they confirmed their romantic relationship in January last year. The two are known to have confirmed their feelings for each other after tvN’s drama “Crash Landing on You” ended in February 2020.
The two are scheduled to hold their wedding in March. Hyun Bin’s agency, VAST Entertainment, and Son Ye-jin’s agency, MSTeam Entertainment, officially announced the two’s marriage on February 10th, saying, “The two will hold their wedding in Seoul this March”
On the same day, Son Ye-jin also posted on her Instagram, “I have someone to spend the rest of my life with”, officially announcing her marriage with Hyun Bin. The actress said, “I feel warm and protected just by being with him”, adding, “A man and a woman meet, share their hearts and promise to build their future together. This is something I couldn’t imagine. We naturally came all the way here. Thanks everything around us that made our relationship a fate”.
