Treasure Jihoon’s “pet shop” remarks are causing controversy.
On Nov 25th, Jihoon left a message on the fan community Weverse, “Today, I went to a pet shop because I felt like I’d die if I didn’t see cute animals.“
He expressed regret, “I met legendary cats and Shiba dogs there. All the stress and worries in my life disappeared. When I came out of the pet shop, it was reset again.“
He added, “I’m sending a video to my mom to convince her to raise a cat or a dog in my house.“
His remarks spread rapidly on various online communities and received negative reactions.
Netizens left comments on theqoo such as “Pet shops are cruel to animals…“, “He’s a celebrity, not an ordinary person, so he needs to be more careful with his remarks” and “I’m disappointed.“
On the other hand, there were also opinions such as “He may not know“, “Is this something to be criticized for?” and “There are more people who don’t know the truth about pet shops than I thought.“
Eventually, Jihoon deleted his remarks.
Recently, many celebrities, including broadcaster-former Jewelry member Lee Ji Hyun, actress Go So Young, couple Kim Won Jung & Kwak Ji Young, were criticized by netizens for revealing their companion animals bought from pet shops on SNS.
