“I can’t call that dancing”, 78-year-old Oh Young Soo reveals the story behind his breakdancing at the Emmys

Actor Oh Young Soo, who recently went viral for breakdancing at the aftermath of Emmy Awards, keeps things humble.

While Netflix drama “Squid Game” made history with 6 Emmy Awards, including Best Director and Best Actor, actor Oh Young Soo, who is now 78 years old, went viral after showing off his dancing skills at the Emmys’ after party. 

Previously, famous American writer Meena Harris, uploaded a 35-second video on her Twitter on September 13th (local time) with the caption, ‘Oh Young Soo cutting it UP”.

The video shows Oh Young Soo, who is surrounded by people, dancing and making intense body waves, and receiving plenty of shouts and applause. Hearing this, Oh Young Soo responded with a bright smile, raising his hand to thank the audience and looking confident. This was apparently filmed at an after-party after the Emmy Awards ceremony ended. 

Regarding his viral video, however, Oh Young Soo showed a humble appearance, telling JTBC, “I can’t call that dancing. I was just getting along with other people and shaking my body a little bit.”

Meanwhile, actor Lee Jung Jae who was next to Oh Young Soo at the time, said, “I was also excited next to Oh Young Soo. I think there were more videos focused on Oh Young Soo than me because he danced passionately and beautifully. 

On the other hand, at the 74th Emmy Awards held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, USA on September 12th (local time), director Hwang Dong Hyuk (51) won the Best Director Award and actor Lee Jung Jae (50) won the Best Actor Award. Previously, at the Emmy Awards ceremony for drama technicians held on the 4th, “Squid Game” received 4 awards including the Guest Actress Award (Lee Yoo Mi) and the Stunt Performance Award. 

At “Squid Game”’s massive achievements, President Yoon Seok Yeol sent a congratulatory message on the 13th, congratulating related people and saying, “The series’ sophisticated approach and insight into the challenges of modern society, such as inequality and loss of opportunity, have gained great sympathy from people around the world.”
