On May 22, LATENCY’s agency Ordinary Records announced through the group’s official fan platform that Hyunjin would be ending her activities with the band due to health reasons. The agency also confirmed that her exclusive contract has been terminated.

According to the statement, Hyunjin recently held in-depth discussions with the company about her future activities after experiencing health difficulties. After respecting the artist’s own opinion, both sides agreed to end the contract.
Ordinary Records stated, “As this was a carefully made decision after sufficient mutual discussion between the parties, we sincerely ask that people refrain from spreading unconfirmed speculation or misunderstandings.” The agency also apologized to fans for the sudden news, adding that LATENCY would continue working hard to repay fans with better performances in the future.
Hyunjin Shares Emotional Handwritten Letter
Hyunjin also personally addressed fans through a handwritten letter on the fan platform. She wrote, “I always wanted to show only good sides of myself on stage, so my heart feels very heavy to greet you through a letter like this.” She continued, “After a long period of thought, I recently decided to end my activities with LATENCY and also terminate my exclusive contract.”

Hyunjin explained that continuing activities had become physically difficult for her, saying, “In the process of continuing activities, I became very exhausted and struggled a lot health-wise. I decided that I need some time to take care of myself.”
She also apologized to fans, saying the decision was not easy and that she felt sorry to those who had supported her. Despite the difficult announcement, Hyunjin expressed gratitude to fans for staying with her. “Thank you sincerely for believing in me, supporting me, and being with me through every moment until now. Because of the fans, I was able to have happy memories,” she wrote. She ended by asking fans to continue supporting LATENCY’s members and promised to work on recovering her health.
A Painful Ending After Her Third Debut
Hyunjin first debuted in 2018 as a member of LOONA. However, after an exclusive contract dispute in 2023, the group went through a difficult period and effectively moved toward disbandment. In 2024, she made a new start by re-debuting with Loossemble, but the group also faced changes after its contract with the agency ended that same year.

LATENCY marked Hyunjin’s third debut and was expected to become a fresh new chapter in her career. However, only about 2 months after officially debuting with the band, she is now stepping away again due to worsening health.
The sudden news has left fans heartbroken, especially because Hyunjin had already gone through multiple difficult transitions in her career. Still, many are now sending messages of support, hoping she can rest, recover, and return in a healthier state someday.
