On August 24, HyunA uploaded several photos on Instagram capturing sweet moments with her husband. But among the pictures, one stood out: Yong Junhyung appearing to smoke on a Paris street.
The timing sparked controversy as France recently tightened its public smoking restrictions. Starting July 1, smoking is prohibited in areas frequented by children—including beaches, parks, school zones, bus stops, and sports venues. Violators face a €135 fine (approx. ₩210,000 KRW). Outdoor café and bar terraces are exempt, and e-cigarettes are not included in the ban.
It remains unclear whether Yong Junhyung actually lit a cigarette, or if the street was within a no-smoking zone. Still, the photos stirred divided opinions online:
- “Why smoke in the middle of the street and even post it online?”
- “It’s outdoors, so it seems illegal.”
- “Illegal or not, it just looks unpleasant.”

The couple, who tied the knot in October 2024, previously promoted as members of 4Minute and BEAST before pursuing successful solo careers. While fans celebrated their Paris honeymoon vibes, the smoking photo left many questioning whether it was an innocent moment or a careless move.
