“Having a son” Hyun Bin “My shoulders have become heavier… I’ll show the image of a wonderful father”

Hyun Bin, who made his first official appearance after having a son, expressed his ambition to show the image of a wonderful father.

Hyun Bin attended the press conference of the movie “The Point Men” (directed by Yim Soon Rye) held at Megabox Seongsu on the afternoon of Dec 20th along with actors Hwang Jung Min, Kang Ki Young and director Yim Soon Rye.

In “The Point Men“, Hyun Bin plays Park Dae Sik, a NIS agent who knows the Middle East and Central Asia areas so well. Park Dae Sik tries to rescue hostages at all costs.

Hyun Bin experienced a hostage situation with Son Ye Jin in “The Negotiation”. When asked if he sought advice from Son Ye Jin, who appeared as a negotiating expert in “The Negotiation”, he shared, “At that time, my character was a kidnapper and a bad person. He’s different from Park Dae Sik, so I have no conversations with Son Ye Jin.“

Then Hwang Jung Min jokingly asked, “Isn’t it when you’re dating?” Hyun Bin was embarrassed and replied “It’s not when we’re dating“, making the scene a sea of laughter.

On this day, Hyun Bin made his first official appearance after having a son. When asked about his feelings, Hyun Bin said, “Since the filming of ‘The Point Men’ took place before (my wife) giving birth, there’s nothing particularly different about working on a project. From now on, my shoulders have become heavier. As the head of a family, if I want to show the image of a wonderful father, I think I need to do my job well.“

Meanwhile, Hyun Bin married actress Son Ye Jin last March. They welcomed their first son on Nov 27th.

“The Point Men” is a film about a rescue operation and negotiations conducted by a diplomat and a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent who struggle and risk their lives in Afghanistan to save Korean hostages that have been abducted in the Middle East. It is scheduled to be released on Jan 18th, 2023.
