Hyeri’s Donation Re-examined After Scandal With Han So-hee, Who Fans Are Turning Their Back On

Voices of support are pouring in for actress Hyeri, who had a scandal with actress Han So-hee.

On March 1st, a post was made on a Korean online community, titled “I looked at Hyeri differently because of this.”

This post summarized Hyeri’s consistent good deeds since her debut. Hyeri donated the full amount of her performing fee at the “DMZ World Peace Concert” in August 2013. In August of the same year, she went to Thailand for volunteer work, and in October, she donated all the profits of her new song “Let’s Go.” Even after becoming an actress in 2015, her good deeds continued. In February 2016, she donated 50 million won to the Community Chest of Korea, and in December of that year, she donated 50 million won to merchants in the fire-hit Seomun Market in Daegu.

Hyeri joined the UNICEF Honors Club after donating 50 million won to Child Fund Korea in 2018 and 100 million won to the UNICEF Korean Committee in 2019. UNICEF Honors Club is a group that only large donors who have donated more than 100 million won or have agreed to donate more than 100 million won within five years can join.

When the COVID-19 pandemic came in 2019, Hyeri opened her wallet once again and donated 100 million won. In 2021, she donated 50 million won to UNICEF on her 28th birthday, and 50 million won to victims of forest fires in Uljin and Samcheok in 2022.

The most recent donation was in February last year. The actress donated 50 million won to children in Turkey who were affected by an earthquake. The cumulative total of her donations alone exceeds 500 million won.

The post said, “I honestly preferred Han So-hee, but I was disappointed by Han So-hee this time and looked at Hyeri differently. I think she is such a solid, good, and kind girl. She seems to be much better in her way of coping and consistent behavior.” Netizens also responded by leaving comments such as, “I didn’t know she made so many donations,” and “Cheer up, Hyeri, the donation angel.”
