On September 18, at the 34th Buil Film Awards held at Signiel Busan in Haeundae, Hyeri won both the Best New Actress award and the Star of the Year award (Female) for her performance in the film Victory.
Before the ceremony, Hyeri was asked which award she would prefer if she had to choose between the two. She candidly replied, “I don’t want to miss out on either. I’m greedy. The Best New Actress category is full of talented nominees, so of course I want it. But the Star of the Year award is given by fans, so I want that, too.”
Her wish came true. Accepting the Best New Actress award, Hyeri said, “I really can’t believe I’ve won. It’s such a happy day for me. Playing Pil-sun gave me comfort, and though the film was meant to encourage audiences, I ended up being the one who received support.” She grew emotional as she thanked fellow actress Park Se-wan: “I leaned on her so much and received so much encouragement. I’m truly grateful to my best friend.”
She went on to thank her staff, agency, and family, pledging, “I want to become a proud daughter and sister. I’ll keep working hard to leave a mark on Korean cinema.”
Later, upon receiving the Star of the Year award, she added, “I’m so thrilled. I’ll work harder to maintain this love and continue to grow as an actress.”

Hyeri celebrated her double victory with fans through social media, writing, “Today, the happiest person in the world = Lee Hyeri. I dedicate this honor to everyone who supported Victory and loved Pil-sun. I’ll always do my best to touch hearts.”
Her film Victory, released in August 2024, tells the story of high schoolers Pil-sun and Mina, who form the cheerleading club “Millennium Girls” at the end of the 1990s to chase their passion for dance and music.
The achievement is particularly meaningful, as it comes a decade after Hyeri’s breakout role in Reply 1988, solidifying her journey from idol-turned-actress to a recognized star in Korean cinema.
