Hyeri apologized for causing the controversy regarding her sister’s online shopping mall

Hyeri, a singer and actor from the group Girl’s Day, apologized for referring to a shopping mall run by her sister during the show.

Her agency, Creative Group ING, posted a message on its official SNS on July 8th, saying, “We apologize for Hyeri’s remarks on ‘Amazing Saturday’s ‘DoReMi Market’ that aired on the 6th.”

The agency said, “She had said it for the fun of the show, but didn’t think it would cause such a controversy and inconvenience. We will be aware of this, reflect on it, and we will act more carefully to prevent the same from happening again.

It also stressed that “We apologize again to those who have been inconvenienced by this, even if it was unintentional.

Hyeri mentioned the name of the shopping mall run by her biological sister on tvN’s entertainment show ‘Amazing Saturday’s ‘DoReMi Market’. While she was receiving a solo shot to match the lyrics of the song, she held a piece of paper with the name of her sister’s shopping mall on it.

The last letter of the name of the shopping mall was mosaic. Shortly after the broadcast, however, the name of the shopping mall operated by Hyeri’s younger sister has gone on the real-time search keywords chart of portal sites, and this has been going on for three days. Some netizens are criticizing the female idol for using the broadcasts for personal publicity purposes.

Below is the full text of Hyeri’s agency’s official position.
