According to Yonhap News on May 8, Judge Kim Kwan Joong of the Seoul Western District Court’s Civil Division 12 dismissed the damages lawsuit filed by HYBE and related parties against media company Fast View. The court also ruled that HYBE would bear the full cost of the legal proceedings.

Back in 2024, HYBE filed a lawsuit seeking approximately 280 million won in damages against seven YouTube channels often labeled as “cyber wreckers” — creators accused of spreading sensationalized or malicious content online. The company claimed the channels continuously circulated false information targeting its artists.

ILLIT members and their agency BELIFT LAB also joined the lawsuit as plaintiffs.

Among the channels operated by Fast View were People Box and Da Issue. The channels had previously uploaded videos alleging that ILLIT copied another artist’s concept, claimed one member indirectly criticized another artist through food-related comments, and spread rumors linking HYBE artists including LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT to cult-related controversies.

The court ultimately rejected HYBE’s claims, marking a significant setback in the company’s ongoing legal efforts to combat online defamation and rumor-based content targeting its artists.
