On May 12, the final episode of the survival program World Scout: The Final Piece aired through Japanese OTT platform ABEMA, revealing the completed lineup for the four-member girl group SAINT SATINE.

The team consists of Emily, Lexie, Samara, and final member Sakura.

Emily and Lexie were previously known for appearing on HYBE and Geffen’s global audition project The Debut: Dream Academy, which also produced KATSEYE. Sakura reportedly secured her debut spot after overcoming odds of 14,000-to-1 competition.

The finale delivered intense competition between Sakura and fellow finalist Ayana. During the final performance stage, Sakura joined the already-confirmed members to perform the original track “PARTY b4 the PARTY.”

Her powerful stage presence and flawless execution of a difficult split move reportedly drew loud reactions from the audience. HxG senior creator Son Sung Deuk praised Sakura, saying: “The moment Sakura stepped forward during the performance, I felt chills. Not only does she have star quality, but she’s reached the level where she can fully unleash it.”

Ayana also received praise for her stable vocals and polished fundamentals. HxG CEO Mitra Darab reportedly complimented her ability to confidently deliver her own style and enjoy the stage.

Following the performances, judges reportedly struggled to make the final decision due to the contrasting strengths of both trainees Sakura’s explosive growth and charisma versus Ayana’s stability and technical perfection.

When Sakura’s name was finally announced, the audience erupted into cheers. Holding back tears, she shared: “I always wanted to become an artist who shines on the global stage. I’m so thankful that my dream came true.”

Despite not making the final lineup, Ayana moved viewers by encouraging Sakura before leaving the stage, gently patting her head and telling her to “stay strong.” Their emotional interaction became one of the most talked-about moments of the finale.

Meanwhile, KATSEYE members also appeared during the broadcast to support the finalists and share advice from their own trainee experiences.

The name SAINT SATINE combines two contrasting concepts. According to Son Sung Deuk, “Saint” symbolizes strong charisma and musical presence, while “Satine” represents elegance, softness, and sophistication.

The four members Emily from the United States, Lexie from Sweden, Sakura from Japan, and Samara from Brazil celebrated their debut by declaring: “The puzzle is complete.”

SAINT SATINE is currently preparing for an official debut later this year with plans to target the global music market.
