A video titled “Conversation Behind the ‘Good Goodbye’ Stage” was recently uploaded to the YouTube channel “Logos.” In the video, Hwasa met with composer Park Woo Sang, who worked with her on the track “Good Goodbye,” and shared the emotions and stories behind the song.
Hwasa revealed how deeply the song affected her while preparing for it. “I lived listening to ‘Good Goodbye’ this year. It was so difficult that around summer I stopped listening to it for about two months. It was that hard. I felt like I might throw up,” she confessed. “I wanted to perfect the song, and since there was still time left, it was overwhelming. After not listening for two months, I heard it again and fell in love with it like it was the first time.”
Composer Park Woo Sang also mentioned a comment he had seen online. “There was a comment saying that whenever Hwasa goes through something in life, she comes to me. It was the same with ‘Maria.’ Big emotions always seem to come at turning points in her life,” he said.
Hwasa agreed with the observation, responding, “That’s right. Maybe that’s why the process of making music becomes so difficult.”

She then spoke about the “good breakup” that served as the starting point for the song. Hwasa explained that when the relationship ended, she struggled to find words to express how she felt.
“When I broke up, I wondered what this feeling was. I couldn’t say anything at all. I was overwhelmed,” she said. “No words could properly conclude that final moment. I kept asking myself, ‘Why can’t I say anything?’ That question was the beginning.”
She continued to describe the emotional conflict she experienced. “Because of that frustration, I kept staying silent. I kept thinking, what could I possibly say to someone who decorated the grand finale of my life, someone who shared an entire chapter with me? That thought made it so difficult,” she confessed. “At first it was simply ‘Goodbye.’ But saying that made everything feel like it opened up.”

After hearing her explanation, Park Woo Sang expressed admiration, saying, “You’re such a deep person.” Hwasa responded with humor, joking, “I actually prefer light coffee.”
Meanwhile, Hwasa became the subject of dating rumors in 2024 when reports claimed she had been in a relationship for five years with a businessman 12 years older than her. At the time, she neither confirmed nor denied the rumors and remained silent.
However, during a March 2025 appearance on the YouTube channel “Narae Sik” alongside Park Na Rae and Han Hye Jin, Hwasa hinted at a possible breakup when she said, “The three of us are all single right now.”
