The agency of idol-actor Hwang Minhyun has published an urgent statement regarding concerning current situations.
On June 29th, Hwang Minhyun’s agency, Pledis Entertainment, posted a notice on the fan community platform Weverse
In particular, Pledis Entertainment explained, “Lately, there has been an increase in unauthorized visits to the artist’s private schedule (such as drama filming sets), causing serious damages to on-site operations.”
They further revealed that Hwang Minhyun’s schedule is being affected due to malicious fans, stating, “Unauthorized visits to filming locations not only delay the shooting process but also lead to unauthorized uploading of video clips and photos on social media. Moreover, incidents that cause harm to the dramas in which the artist appears have been recurring”.
The agency then appealed, “In order to foster a healthy fan culture and ensure the safety and rights of the artist, we kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting and staying at unofficial scheduled locations and commit unauthorized filming.”
In addition, Pledis Entertainment gave a stern warning and said, “If such behavior continues, participating fans may get their Hwang Minhyun’s global fan club membership and benefits restricted or revoked, without prior warning”, adding, “entry and participation in official schedules may also be restricted without additional notice.”
Finally, the agency concluded, “We will continue to make efforts to promote a healthy fan culture and protect the rights of our artists. We sincerely request the active cooperation of fans.”
On the other hand, Hwang Minhyun debuted in 2012 as a member of boy group “NU’EST” and gained significant popularity in 2017 as he appeared on the Mnet survival show “Produce 101 Season 2” and debuted with the final project group “WANNA ONE”.
He has since showcased his talent as an entertainer through various activities such as theatre appearances in the play“Marie Antoinette”, TV drama appearances in “Live On” and “Alchemy of Souls”, as well as solo music releases.
Hwang Minhyun is also scheduled to meet viewers through the upcoming tvN drama “My Lovely Liar”, where he will star alongside actress Kim So Hyun.
