On July 8, Hwang Jung Eum‘s YouTube channel uploaded a new video titled “The Day I Became a Woman With a Story While Singing.”

In the video, Hwang Jung Eum reunited with her vocal trainer, greeting them warmly. “How long has it been?” she asked. The trainer replied, “The last record I have is from November 2024. We can still listen to all the songs from your old lessons. I thought it would be nice to revisit them and also try singing some songs you’ve wanted to perform recently.”

The trainer then commented on her appearance, saying, “You look like you’ve lost a lot of weight.” Hwang Jung Eum quietly responded, “I’ve been going through a difficult time lately.”

When asked whether things were finally being sorted out, she answered, “Everything has been resolved. It’s still hard, but a lot of people have helped me, so I’ve been able to organize everything. I’ve also started filming again because there are people who continue to look for me.”

The vocal trainer observed, “Compared to the last time I saw you, you seem calmer and more at peace.” Hwang Jung Eum agreed, explaining, “That’s true. I went through so many difficult things that I spent all my energy trying to deal with them. The energy I once had has been completely drained.”

Offering encouragement, the trainer said, “You can fill it back up. The last lesson ended with us working on expressing emotions through lyrics. We’ll keep trying so you can convey your emotions even more through your singing. Let’s work toward becoming mentally healthier. In a way, this can be healing.”

Hwang Jung Eum married a non-celebrity businessman one year younger than her in 2016, and the couple has two sons. In February 2024, news broke that she had filed for divorce, and the marriage officially ended in May last year.

Around the same time, the actress shocked the public after it was revealed that she had embezzled approximately 4.34 billion won. After fully repaying the amount, the court took her restitution into consideration and sentenced her to two years in prison, suspended for four years.

Following a period away from the spotlight, Hwang Jung Eum launched her own YouTube channel in May this year, where she has gradually begun sharing updates about her life and making a cautious return to the public eye.
